That's kayaking for you land lubbers.
Dave and I were able to spend a few hours Saturday kayaking on Shem Creek, which runs into Charleston's harbor. I felt safe paddling up this small creek surrounded by marsh grass. We had the option of paddling out into the harbor, but being around small boats bothers me. I'm afraid I won't be able to get out of someone's way. Shem Creek was just my style.
Dave leads the way initially. Then, I get in front so that he can cast without worrying about me.

The homes along the marsh were spectacular. I couldn't believe the docks that were built through the marsh to get out to the creek. This is one of the shorter walk ways.

Spooky Spanish moss is lovely.

There were plenty of birds around. Ducks were hiding in the marsh grass. Occasionally, one would fly off when you got too close. If you saw the duck in advance, it was okay, but when a duck was laying low in the grass and flew off just past you, your heart would start racing.
