My Guys
I don't have enough time before Gavin wakes up to begin to tell you all what an awesome husband Dave is. He was wonderfully supportive in the hospital, when I was physically drained. (Yep, there's Gavin now.) He changed all the yucky first diapers in the hospital and continues to change diapers at home. He is keeping the house tidy after being at work all day. He is a dish washer (especially bottles) extraordinaire. He has pitched in cooking dinners and has even asked for "easy" recipes that he can make. He swoops in and takes Gavin when he's fussing (really, who takes a fussy baby?). He makes breakfast. He does the shopping--he's picked up nursing bras and a breast pump, in addition to the groceries. He rubs my back when it's tired from walking a fussy baby. He finds time to play with the poor, neglected dog. He vacuums the living room rug on his hands and knees with the shop vac, "because that's the only way" to get it clean. He swaddles Gavin like a pro. He makes sure that I have enough protein options for meals and snacks so that Gavin will get good milk from Mama. He fixes a make-shift shower seat when I have a fever. I could go on and on. (But I don't want Gavin too mad when it's time to eat.) I suppose the bottom line is Dave loves me. And I can't ask for any more than that.

...and who wouldn't!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Cute outfit--Gavin's, I mean.
hi, remember your favorite Bible verse1st Corinthians chapter 13 verse4-7. You are blessed to have this kind of love with David and so is he. I like the picture.
ReplyDeleteDavid is a true gentleman — a rare breed these days. I am so happy for both of you that you have each other. Gavin is one lucky baby to have parents like you and David.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Dave!!
